A long partnership measured in growth, not tickets
For more than a decade, this cold chain 3PL has worked with MQUAL on managed IT and application development. The engagement started when the company had two partners and one IT firm. It has grown into ongoing support for a healthcare supply-chain operation that puts technology in front of customers as part of how they compete.
“We pride ourselves in bringing the best in technology to our clients. MQUAL’s ability to quickly resolve issues, scale support and adapt to our ever-changing needs has been critical to our growth over the years.”IT Director — Cold Chain 3PL Provider
Two partners in 2006
The company was co-founded in 2006 to deliver flexible, compliant healthcare supply-chain solutions for pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech clients of different sizes. End-to-end control, real-time visibility, and serious reporting were early requirements — not nice-to-haves for later.
From day one, the two partners had a full plate. Building an IT foundation that could keep up with rapid growth sat near the top of the list. They needed solutions that could scale and change shape as the business did, so they brought MQUAL in.
Redundancy and automated failover
A practical growth risk was ISP outages taking down web, email, and cloud services. MQUAL worked with the company’s internal IT team to stand up and manage redundant ISP connections and a failover protocol so a single carrier failure did not equal a company-wide outage.
Email continuity mattered for customers and partners as much as for staff. MQUAL moved the company from a single Microsoft Exchange server to four redundant servers with automated failover.
To backstop cloud services and keep up with rising user demand, MQUAL also stood up an internal SQL database and application server.
As a result of that infrastructure work, critical services have been about 3× faster on average. The environment has delivered that performance with no downtime attributed to Internet connectivity or critical network service outages.
Supporting 300+ users across four states
Today the company supports 300+ computer users across four states and still works with MQUAL. Together they deploy what the workload needs next — more capacity, cleaner workflows, and systems that meet client and compliance expectations without constant firefighting.
Technology is part of how the company sells. Integrated web applications and a stable internal network are meant to give customers control and reliability they can see. As new solutions land, scalability and security stay on the checklist, not as afterthoughts.
Uptime for Internet connectivity and critical network services has held at 99.9% in the sense described above: no downtime from those failure modes.
Custom applications and integration
MQUAL also built a suite of custom business applications for the company — ticketing, billing, accounts payable, and cost tracking among them. Designing systems around how the business actually runs, and making them work together, has improved day-to-day operations.
“MQUAL has delivered from the start, successfully working with us on data warehousing, workflow automation and complicated custom software development across a variety of functions.”Co-Founder — Cold Chain 3PL Provider
The custom automated chargeback processing system alone has saved the company at least 50% of the initial cost year-over-year.
Today the company’s clients use more than 1.35 million square feet of secure, cGMP-compliant, VAWD-accredited space across four facilities. The technology stack and integrated platforms support distribution work that has to stay reliable. The partnership continues to address rising workloads, efficiency, and compliance requirements as the footprint grows.
